Gatchina palace (2nd half of the XVIII century) and the first landscaped park in
Russia compose the residence of "The most romantic Russian Emperor" Paul I.
On display: gala halls of the XVIII century, exhibition of Western-European and
Russian paintings and arms of the XVII-XIX centuries. The romantic feature of
Gatchina palace is an underground tunnel to the lake. The pride of the park are
the pavilions "Beriozovy Dom" ("Birch House") and "Pavilion Venery" ("Pavilion
of Venus").
